This is the Team Durango DNX408 1/8 Competition Nitro Buggy Kit. As you would expect from Team Durango, precision, quality and performance are the hallmarks of the DNX408. The 1/8 scale nitro buggy class is the most demanding of any RC car racing class, so Team Durango has designed a car that is as strong as it is fast! Credited with some of the fastest laps on record at the IFMAR 2010 1/8 Buggy World Championships, the DNX408 has the ability to win and the features necessary to keep you at the front of the pack.

Features:

  • Centralized Weight Distribution: The narrowest and most compact layout in its class, the DNX408 makes the car forgiving, agile and fast without any 'edginess'. Push it hard and it pays back with fast lap times.
  • Low Center of Gravity: Lowest center of gravity in its class.
  • Central Spine: A 5mm thick x 104mm wide lightened chassis, with machined alloy bulkheads. The unique chassis brace design, the positioning of the engine mount, as well as the center bulkheads makes for a super-strong central spine with just the right amount torsional flex. With minimal flex kick-back, this chassis design allows the car to land very well off jumps, and allows you to feel the setup changes you make.
  • Easy Differential Access: Diff tuning is a big part of the 1/8 off road class. So, like the DNX410, differential access is super simple. Not only is it easier to get the preferred diff settings during the tightest race schedules, there is no risk of upsetting your suspension when removing the differential assembly.
  • Differential Case Design: Machined alloy bearing holders and a 'floating' diff case assembly provides the lowest maintenance, longest service life and maximum power transmission for the most stress-free drive train design ever conceived.
  • Equal Length Center Drive Shafts: Both center drive shafts are the same. Some people have theories that this is better for torque splitting. But one thing is for sure - it means fewer parts in your pit box.
  • Piston Action Brakes: The brake piston pushes exactly on the middle of the brake pad for consistent brake response, while CNC-machined bulkheads and brake pad mounts provide zero flex and maximum feel.
  • Radio Tray and Receiver Box: All the electronics are mounted on one super low CG plate that's sunken into the chassis. With an easy access receiver battery box, as well as an innovative ventilation hatch for those who have experienced thermal shutdown of the receiver.
  • Angled Steering: Steering bell cranks follow the line of the suspension kick-up, preventing bump steer.
  • Class Leading Ground Clearance: This provides smoother landings, with less risk of catching bumps.
  • Universal Engine Mount: A precision machined one piece engine mount is included as standard equipment to prevent crankcase flex and engine problems. A gold memory mount plate means if you remove it from the chassis it 'remembers' the gear mesh.
  • Fuel Tank Detail: A central filler opening allows for fast pit stops on any track, whether its run clockwise or counter clockwise. Ribs in the neck of the tank will help prevent under-fills from the fuel gun going too far into the tank, while internal baffles ensure consistent fuel pick-up. An integrated fuel filter prevents dirt from getting sucked into your engine, and fuel line clips keep things neat. For those who swear by pressure line coolers there are mounts included in the top of the tank.
  • Dirt Control: Rubber boots on the outer CVD joints, with protective rings on the outdrives, as well as splash guards on the rear arms helps keep critical drivetrain components clean, even on the dirtiest tracks.
  • 15mm Big Bore Shocks: A critical component to any off-road car, is the shocks. PTFE coated ultra-smooth 15mm big-bore threaded alloy shocks feature alloy caps, an alloy lower cartridge and polished shock shafts. Mounted on 5mm hard anodized shock towers, the shock absorbers on the DNX408 are as smooth as possible giving you the best 'feel' of your car as it soaks-up the roughest of tracks.
  • Lightened Transmission Parts: Rotating mass is the enemy of any race car, so many standard parts have been lightened, including the front, center and rear outdrives, the center spur gear and brake disks.
